A medical upbringing shaped by the law
Diego was born and raised in a family of doctors in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His mother, Dr. Flora Orama, MD, was a med school professor before entering private practice as a successful, respected, and renowned radiologist. As a kid and after school, Diego was sneaked into hospitals through service doors and got to experience the inner workings of such hospitals through the radiology department (and doctors know everything goes through Radiology!). His uncle shared stories and insight into the happenings of the emergency rooms where Dr. Lispoldo Orama, MD, worked long hours. Even Diego’s youngest brother, who is 13 years his junior, is an interventional radiologist at world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

More than a black sheep that sues doctors, his family values Diego as a gatekeeper, holding hospitals and doctors to the proper standard of care and ensuring that claims that reach our courthouses are only those with substantial merit. That commitment to respecting the medical profession practiced by his family and dozens of other friends has resulted in prosecuting rightful cases and multiple seven-figure dollar results.

Diego is passionate about the Stoic philosophy, Puerto Rico’s colonial issues, and horses, and horses... and horses (that is not a typo).

He is blessed to have two minor children, Soleyl and Ricardo. He is an advocate for disability rights, a fight that he picked up when Soleyl blessed his life with her Down Syndrome journey. Ricardo already argues like a lawyer… which is both a joy and slightly annoying. He shares his passion for the thrills of life with his partner in crime, Michelle, and her two children.
